Work Marg connects Vendors with Labourers for daily-wage work. To do that we need some personal information from both. This policy explains, in plain words, what we collect, how we use it and how we keep it safe. By registering on or using the Platform, you agree to this policy.
1.Who We Are
- Work Marg ("Platform", "we", "us") is owned and operated by Mr. Rakesh, S/o Mr. Hublal, with initial jurisdiction in Ayodhya and Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, India. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle the personal information of Vendors and Labourers who use the Platform.
- This policy should be read with our Terms & Conditions.
2.Information We Collect
- Account details: your name, mobile number, email address, username and password when you register. Your password is stored only as a one-way encrypted hash — nobody at Work Marg can read it. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. If you register with an email and password, we email you a 6-digit code to confirm the address is yours; only a one-way hash of the code is stored, and it expires after 10 minutes. If you register as a worker with a friend's referral code, we record which worker referred you; a worker who shares their code is given a random referral code that identifies their account. If you opt in to WhatsApp job alerts, we record that choice, when you made it, the language you chose, and when you withdrew it.
- Worker profile: your state, district and city, address and — if you place one — a map pin of your home (seen only by you and Work Marg, never by vendors — if you claim a fuel fee, Google measures the road distance from it to the work site and the vendor sees only the distance), job roles, daily rate and years of experience for each role, preferred work type, and the days you mark as unavailable.
- Vendor profile: your company name, address, contact person and location, and the work-site pin you drop on a map when you accept a booking (the worker sees it, with directions).
- Verification documents: the images or PDFs a worker uploads to get verified — both sides of the Aadhaar card, and optionally a birth certificate, PAN card or bank proof.
- Payments and payouts: your wallet balance and every wallet transaction; the Razorpay order and payment references of your top-ups and plan payments; and the bank account (account number, IFSC, account holder name) or UPI ID you save to withdraw money. Card, UPI and net-banking details you enter at checkout are handled by Razorpay and are not stored by us. A worker who refers another worker receives a referral bonus in their wallet when the referred worker first pays for a subscription; that payment is recorded against the referred worker's account.
- Work records: the requirements you raise or accept, bookings, the days you request or approve, cash-payment marks, ratings and reviews.
- Messages: chat messages between vendors and workers, including voice notes, photos and shared locations; support tickets; and anything you send through the contact form.
- Location: the job-site pin a vendor places on a requirement, and your device's location only when you choose to use it — by pressing "Use my current location" or sharing a location in chat. We do not track your location in the background.
3.How We Use Your Information
- To create and run your account, and to let you sign in (including resetting a forgotten password by email).
- To match workers to requirements by district, job role and availability, and to show vendors a directory of verified workers.
- To verify workers: an admin reviews the uploaded documents by hand before a worker is given the verified badge.
- To hold, release, refund and record payments, and to process withdrawals to your saved bank account or UPI ID.
- To send in-app notifications about jobs, offers, day requests, payments and your account.
- To send job-match alerts on WhatsApp to workers who asked for them — an opt-in you give by ticking the box at registration or on your profile, and can withdraw at any time from your profile or by replying STOP to an alert. We record when and where you gave or withdrew that consent.
- To answer support tickets and contact-form messages, to resolve disputes, and to prevent fraud and misuse of the Platform.
- To meet our legal obligations.
4.Who Can See Your Information
- Vendors see a verified worker's name, job roles, rates, experience, district, availability, rating and verified badge. A worker's mobile number stays hidden until a booking between them is accepted.
- Workers see a job's project, vendor company, location, dates, rates and instructions. A vendor's mobile number stays hidden until a booking between them is accepted.
- In chat, phone numbers and email addresses typed in a message are hidden until a booking is accepted. Voice notes, photos and shared locations cannot be filtered — please do not share contact details in them if you want to keep them private.
- A worker who referred you sees your name, when you joined and whether you have paid for a subscription — nothing else about your account.
- Verification documents and bank details are never shown to vendors or other workers. They are visible only to Work Marg's admins, for verification and for making the withdrawals you request.
- Work Marg admins can see accounts, requirements, bookings, work days, payments and chats, to operate the Platform, support users and settle disputes.
- We do not sell your personal information.
5.Service Providers We Use
- We use trusted third parties to run the Platform. They process your information only to provide their service to us:
- MongoDB Atlas — our database.
- Vercel — website hosting, and private storage for verification documents and chat voice notes and photos.
- Razorpay — wallet top-ups and plan payments.
- Google — Sign in with Google; Google Maps for job-site and home pins, map images, addresses and the road distance of fuel claims; and Google Cloud Translation, which receives the page text when you switch the site to Hindi.
- Resend — sending email-confirmation codes and password-reset emails.
- Meta Platforms (WhatsApp Business) — delivers job-match alerts to workers who opted in; receives the worker's mobile number, first name and a one-line summary of the matching job, and reports back whether the message was delivered. Nothing is sent to a worker who has not opted in.
- WordPress — hosts the articles shown on our blog.
7.How We Protect Your Information
- Passwords are stored only as encrypted hashes. Verification documents, voice notes and photos are kept in private storage and can only be opened through the Platform by someone allowed to see them.
- Saved bank account numbers are shown masked (for example ••••4321) everywhere except to the admin processing your withdrawal.
- No system is completely secure. Please keep your password private, and tell us straight away if you think your account has been misused.
8.Your Rights and Choices
- You can see and correct most of your details yourself, from your profile or account settings.
- To ask for a copy of your information, a correction you cannot make yourself, or the deletion of your account, write to us at hello@workmarg.in. We may need to keep some records — such as payment and transaction records — where the law requires it, or to settle an open dispute.
- We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for as long as it is needed for the purposes above or required by law.
9.Age Requirement
- The Platform is only for people who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
10.Changes to This Policy
- We may update this Privacy Policy as the Platform changes. The updated version will be posted on this page, and continuing to use the Platform means you accept it.
11.Contact and Grievances
- For any question or complaint about your personal information, write to hello@workmarg.in. Signed-in users can also raise a support ticket from their dashboard.
- This policy is governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the courts named in our Terms and Conditions.
