This policy explains what Work Marg charges, what it holds, what it refunds and when. It applies to every Vendor and Labourer (“worker”) who registers on or uses the Platform and should be read with our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. Apart from the dispute backstop in Article 4, nothing below depends on anyone's discretion: each rule is how the Platform's software behaves. All amounts are in Indian Rupees.
1.Definitions
- Wallet: Each Vendor and each worker has a Work Marg wallet. A Vendor adds money to it; wages, refunds and bonuses are credited to it; money leaves it only by withdrawal (Article 8).
- Hold: When a Vendor publishes a requirement or accepts a direct-booking offer, the wages and the platform fee are moved from the Vendor's wallet into a hold kept by the Platform. Held wages are released to the worker as the work is approved, or returned to the Vendor as this policy describes.
- Platform fee: A flat amount in rupees charged to the Vendor on each requirement and on each direct booking. The amounts in force are published on our Pricing page and shown to you before you pay. The fee shown at the moment you pay is the one that applies to that requirement or booking, even if the published fee changes later.
- Membership plan: The paid plan a worker holds after the free trial to keep their dashboard open (Article 7). It is not a fee for work and is never deducted from wages.
2.Wallet Top-ups (Vendors)
- Only Vendors top up a wallet. Top-ups are paid through Razorpay by UPI, card or net-banking, between ₹100 and ₹5,00,000 per top-up, and are credited to the wallet when Razorpay confirms the payment.
- Top-ups are not refunded to the payment method: The Platform never sends money back to the card, UPI ID or bank account a top-up came from. A wallet balance is withdrawable instead (Article 8), free of charge, to a bank account or UPI ID you save.
- A payment Razorpay does not confirm creates no wallet credit. If your bank shows a charge and your wallet does not show the credit, write to us with the Razorpay payment reference and we will check it against Razorpay's record.
3.Requirements: Charges, Cancellation and Refunds
- What is charged: When a Vendor publishes a requirement, the wages for every day of every job role (or, in pay-day-by-day mode, the wages for day 1 only) plus the requirement fee are moved from the wallet into the hold. Until this payment is made the requirement is not live and nothing has been charged.
- Cancelling before payment: A requirement that has not been paid can be cancelled at no cost — nothing was charged.
- Cancelling before any worker accepts: If the Vendor cancels a paid requirement before any worker has accepted it, the whole hold — wages and the requirement fee — returns to the Vendor's wallet in full, immediately and automatically.
- Once a worker has accepted: A requirement cannot be cancelled once any worker has accepted it. The requirement fee is then non-refundable. The requirement runs to its end date and is settled by closing it.
- How wages are released: After each day worked, the worker requests that day's pay and the Vendor approves or rejects it. Each approved day is released from the hold to the worker's wallet. A worker may instead record that a day was paid in cash; nothing is released for that day.
- Pay-day-by-day mode: In pay-day-by-day mode the Vendor pays each later day by hand from the wallet when they choose to continue. No further platform fee is charged for those days.
- Closing and the refund: After the end date, and when no day request is waiting for a decision, the Vendor (or the Platform) closes the requirement. Everything paid into the hold for wages that was not released to workers — including the wages of days recorded as paid in cash — returns to the Vendor's wallet immediately and automatically. The requirement fee is not refunded at close.
4.Direct Bookings: Charges, Cancellation and Refunds
- What is charged: In a chat, the worker sends an offer — their daily rate and their dates. The Vendor's acceptance is the payment: the offer total (days × rate) plus the booking fee are moved from the Vendor's wallet into the hold.
- Before payment: A Vendor may decline an offer before accepting it. Nothing is charged.
- After payment: Once an offer is accepted and paid, neither the Vendor nor the worker can cancel it on their own. The amount stays in the hold until it is settled in one of the ways below.
- Release: When the Vendor approves the worker's release request, the offer total is credited to the worker's wallet and the booking fee is kept by the Platform.
- Settled in cash: If the worker records that the Vendor paid them in cash, the offer total returns to the Vendor's wallet. The booking fee is kept by the Platform.
- Turned away at the site — fuel claim: If the worker reaches the site and is turned away, they may claim fuel: the road distance from their home to the site, both ways, multiplied by the fuel rate on the Pricing page, never more than the held total. The Vendor may pay or dispute the claim; a claim nobody answers is paid automatically after 48 hours. Paying it ends the booking: the fuel amount goes to the worker's wallet, the rest of the total returns to the Vendor's wallet, and the booking fee is kept.
- Dispute backstop: Where the two sides disagree, either may raise a support ticket. The Platform may then release the total to the worker, refund the whole hold — total and booking fee — to the Vendor, or split the total between them (the fee is kept on a split). A full refund by the Platform is the only case in which a booking fee already paid is returned.
5.Platform Fees
- Work Marg charges Vendors two flat fees: a requirement fee, paid when a requirement is published, and a booking fee, paid when a direct-booking offer is accepted. There are no percentages. The current amounts are published on the Pricing page and shown before you pay; a fee set to ₹0 is simply not charged.
- Non-refundable, with two exceptions: A platform fee is not refundable, except (a) when a requirement is cancelled before any worker has accepted it, and (b) when the Platform refunds a disputed booking in full under Article 4.
- Workers are never charged a fee or commission on wages. Every rupee released from a hold for a day or a booking reaches the worker's wallet in full. Withdrawing money is free for everyone (Article 8).
6.How and When Refunds Arrive
- Every refund in this policy is credited to the Vendor's Work Marg wallet automatically, at the moment the event that triggers it happens — a cancellation, a close, a cash settlement, a fuel-claim payment or a Platform decision. There is no processing period and nobody has to approve it.
- Each movement appears as its own line on the Payments page of your dashboard, and you receive an in-app notification for it.
- Refunds are never sent to the card, UPI ID or bank account a top-up came from. To take money out of the wallet, request a withdrawal (Article 8).
7.Worker Membership Plans
- Free trial: Every new worker account comes with a 10-day free trial from the day it is created. No payment details are taken for the trial.
- The plans: After the trial a worker may buy a Monthly (30 days), Half-yearly (180 days) or Yearly (365 days) membership at the price published on the Pricing page and shown before paying. A plan without a published price is not on sale. Membership is paid through Razorpay, never from wallet earnings.
- No automatic renewal: Nothing renews on its own. A worker renews by paying again, and the new plan's days are added to the current expiry date — renewing early never loses a day.
- Non-refundable: Membership payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. There is no refund, in full or in part, for unused days, for a change of plan, or for an account that is closed, blocked or no longer used. Please choose the plan length you need before you pay.
- What expiry means: When a membership expires the worker's dashboard is locked except for Notifications, the membership page and Support. The worker stays listed, matched, notified and bookable, every requirement or booking they already hold continues, and every day or booking approved for them is still paid into their wallet. Membership is not a fee for getting work and never affects whether a worker is paid.
8.Withdrawals from the Wallet
- Vendors and workers may ask for their wallet balance to be paid to a bank account (account number, IFSC, account holder) or UPI ID they have saved. There is no minimum amount at present; if one is set, it is shown on the Pricing page and on the withdrawal form.
- The money leaves when you ask: The amount is debited from the wallet the moment the request is made, so a balance always means money you can still spend. Only one withdrawal request can be open at a time.
- Cancelling: You may cancel your own request at any time until the Platform decides it; the amount returns to your wallet immediately.
- Transferred by hand: Withdrawals are not instant. A member of the Platform team makes the bank or UPI transfer themselves and then records the decision. If the request is approved you receive an in-app notification with the transfer reference (UTR); if it is rejected the amount returns to your wallet immediately and the notification tells you why.
- Service target: We aim to settle every withdrawal request within 3 working days of receiving it.
- No fee: Work Marg charges nothing on a withdrawal.
9.Referral Bonus
- A worker who refers another worker is paid a referral bonus into their wallet when the referred worker first pays for a membership plan. The amount is the one published on the Pricing page on that day, is paid by the Platform from its own money — never from anyone's wages or payments — once per referred worker, and is not a refund of anything. A bonus set to ₹0 pauses the programme; nothing is owed later for referrals made while it is paused.
10.Disputes, Questions and Contact
- Signed-in users raise a support ticket from their dashboard (see Support); anyone may write to info@workmarg.com or call +91 97942 80264. For a payment question, give the requirement, booking or Razorpay reference and the date.
- A Platform decision on a disputed hold under Article 4 settles the Platform's obligation for that hold. This policy is governed by the laws of India and the courts named in our Terms & Conditions.
11.Changes to This Policy
- We may update this policy as the Platform changes. The updated version is posted on this page with its date. The rules that applied when you paid continue to govern that payment.
